Dr. Han Oul is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Web Technologies, University of Koblenz, Germany. As a believer in interdisciplinary research, she uses social science theories as a bridge for forging research projects with computer science and other disciplines. Her research topics include political/affective/emotional polarization, text data, democratization, online democracy, misinformation, and the implications of AI in digital society.
In the past, she held postdoctoral positions at the department of Computational Social Science of GESIS in Cologne, and at the Korean Studies Center of the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. She received her PhD in Political Science from the Graduate School of East Asian Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, her Master in International Studies and European Area Studies from the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University, and her Bachelor in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design.
